Eleint 17, 1369:
The convoy reaches Nesme at dawn. The merchants offer to handle
the sale of the barge and the equipment on it for the party. The
party in turn asks that 10% be divided among the rivermen (2
shares to the captain).
The merchants turn the prisoner over to the city and go looking
for a buyer for the barge et. al. Near the days end they catch up
to the party with 500gp from the sale. The party distributes 50gp
to the rivermen.
Dexter is told that his bear can't enter city proper. He agrees
to stay with it in a Ruby Star warehouse on the docks.
The party discovers that the only inn in town is the "Walking
Inn", the former cathedral of Waukeen, which has been converted to
open sleeping space (1gp/night) and rental worship rooms.
Darius heads off to find Wizardy Hall. The rest of party goes
looking for Rhaunric Starbrand's magic weapon shop. They find the
shop - "Starbrand's Enchanted Arms". He has 25 +1 flight arrows
made by local elven craftsman for 275gp ea., 18 +1 sling bullets
(individually named - names seen include zeppo, harpo and muffin)
made by local halfling craftsman for 250gp ea. and two magic
melee weapons:
-- Warhammer, "Crushmighty", +3, +4 v plant creatures, +5 v elves,
det G/E 60', +3 to disbelief, INT 7, EGO 7 Carved from a
single piece of green & brown marble enchanted to be
stronger than steel, green leather wrapped handle w/wrist
loop, walnut sized garnet in pommel. Green light, 20'r.

-- Shortsword, "Balthazar, Hellspawn of Terror", +1 distant thunder
can be heard by anyone hearing the wielder speak its name.

The party sells Sear for 1425gp, 5 +1 flight arrows and 1 +1
bullet (named "Bullwinkle"). Each party member gets 142gp, 147gp
goes to party treasure. Arrows distributed to Dexter, Maanamere,
Misery Jones, Henkles & Narthan, bullet held by Darius (all as
party treasure).
Darius returns from Wizardry Hall and informs the party that he
can join the Nesme' Society of Wizards for 500gp per year and one
unique spell, thereby gaining admission to their private library.
The party agrees to let him use the lowest level unique spell in
Galadaster's Orizon that they don't have yet. This turns out to
be Geirdorn's Grappling Grasp. He begins waiting the 24 hours for
approval.
Darius, Steve & Cassie go looking for Parchment House. Henkles
goes looking for unique or unusual weapons. The remaining party
members go looking for someplace to drink. They discover that
spellcasters are not allowed in bars in Nesme' and eventually rent
a room in the House of the Wise Unicorn for 10gp party treasure
and spend the day drinking there (for another 20gp). Henkles
finds a blunderbuss & 2 arquebusses, but cannot afford them. He
buys two pairs of nunchaku.
The wizards find the wizard version of Faerie Fire at Parchment
House, as expected & copy it - party pays 17gp, Darius 1gp. They
also copy Conjure Spell Component in the hopes that Maanamere can
learn it, party pays. Darius & Steve learn both spells, Maanamere
attempts Conjure Spell Component & fails, Cassie attempts Faerie
Fire & fails.
Gold for raft divided (50gp ea.). Party spends night in "Walking
Inn" (the cathedral) for 8gp party funds.
