Flamerule 14
Flamerule 14, 1369:
Multi-class members of party finish their training.
Bruce contacts the party and notifies them that he has found two
people in the city who are currently selling magic weapons and at
the party's request he sets up apointments with them. He also
gives them the name of Rhaunric Starbrand, a well-known dealer in
magic weapons in Nesme. It's said (Bruce says) that he always has
at least one magic weapon for sale at any time.
Dexter, with the aid of documentation provided by Dario, goes to
the High Palace and asks to be admitted to the Crypt of the High
Mages so he may pay his respects to his ancestor, Ederan "Catseye"
Nharimlur (687-784), 3rd High Mage of Silverymoon. He is permitted
to enter, but asked to leave his magic weapon. After some
discussion he is allowed to take it with him peace-bonded to a
board. He prostrates himself betfore his ancestors grave and sees a
vision in Binky's blade.
The vision shows him (in the clothes he wore to the tomb) being
lowered into a pit in the middle of a bar as patrons cheer him on.
At the bottom of the shaft he finds himself in a sand-floored room
with many battered shields on the walls. He heads down a corridor,
which turns a time or two, to a room where he puts away his light
spike and lights a torch. He then proceeds to the left side of the
room and dances on a particular sequence of flagstones before
pumping a lever vigorously.
At that point the vision faded and he realised that several magical
alarms were going off around him. He was swiftly taken into
custody and questioned by two members of the Spellguard
(Silverymoons wizard corps) and eventually released after they
assured themselves that it was just another damn adventurer trying
something stupid. Binky was kept for further examination. Dexter
returned to the Lingering Song and told the party what happened.
(Actually, he left out a lot of details about the vision, but
Darius questioned him repeatedly over the next week of camping and
managed to fill in what he hopes is the rest.) (400xp)
That night, Stewart arrived at the bar with 2 bird cages, each
holding two carrier pigeons. He explained that the pigeons were
on loan from the Temple of Silver Stars so that he could call on
the armies of Selune, should they be needed against the forces of
Shar.
