Leprechaun Rescue:
The party is approached by a Leprechaun who asks them to help rescue
his relative, who is being held by two very bad men in a dead magic
zone.
The MU's pull out their bag of tricks, and fail to do anything but
announce their presence. They retreat. The leprechaun tells them
that they're being followed by one of the bad men, who they manage
to capture.
The party's fighters arrive, and they fail to immediately resolve
the situation with force. The hostage standoff continues until the
group trades the subdued bad man for the leprechaun hostage.
The leprechaun gives the party info about where the ward is.

Dwarven Ruins:
DM Note:
the party members present... Stuart, Falco, Elizabeth, Steve, Dexter,
Darius
Encounter 1: The door in the hillside
The party encounters a door in the hillside surrounded by four
carved dwarven heads. Runes on the door reveal that only those who
declare themselves to be friends of the dwarves may enter. Upon
entry, the shade of an ancient dwarf warrior rises from the earth to
tell the party "... be warned that things of silver are deadly
dangerous..." and returns to his rest.
DM Note:
Treasure: 5 GP taken out of the mouths of the dwarf heads
Encounter 2: Chamber of magical candles
The party finds a chamber full of magical candles that burn without
becoming depleted. There are two types of candle there, one type
shaped like dwarves, another type long and slender. Putting out all
the candles allows the door to open to the rest of the dungeon.
Taking a candle without leaving a coin causes the candle to vanish
as soon as the thief leaves the room.
Encounter 3: A black jelly, the party lured it away with a candle,
and it was never seen again. (50xp)
Encounter 4: Battle across time
The party hears sounds of battle, and then see a battle between a
small group of dwarven warriors in archaic armor and what appear to
be half-ogres. Some of the dwarves have fallen, and the party helps
the remaining dwarves fight off the half-ogres. It turns out that
the dwarves can only be seen in the light of the candles, and in
exchange for helping them the dwarves give the dwarven party member
(Falco) a ring. They say that the rings can be used to call for
help, and can be used only once.
DM Note: I can't remember if the party killed any of the half-ogres
or not. MM pg. 274, 1 veteran(5 + 3hd), 4 warriors(2+6hd). At the
very least they were driven off. (675xp)
Encounter 5: The sealed portal ( which the party leaves alone).
Encounter 6: The maze where each hallway has a random effect take
place, snowing, bits of armor, whatever.
Encounter 7: The enchanted pool of increased drowning risk!
Encounter 8: The animated statue
As the party explores the room with the drowning pool, a statue
animates and begins to attack. With glowing red eyes and a big grin
she proceeds to target the magic user. She's armed with a silver
edged spear and shield. The party beats her into lava chips, and
takes the spear and shield. Later they bury the weapons. The party
takes the ruby necklace worn by the statue. (650xp)
Final Encounter: The party makes its way through the maze of
hallways, through a number of traps, and retrieves the ward.
Nothing else interesting happened after that, and the party went
back to their regularly scheduled programming...
