Marpenoth 27, 1369:
    
    Rumors begin to circulate that an area government is close to being
    formed in the Silverymoon region.

    Steve cast identify (6th level) with the following results:
        o Casting on the ring taken from the metal spider web, he
          learned two words, apparently names, before failing his third
          roll.  The names were "Greek-Fronz" and "Frienz".
        o He learned that the magic bottle taken from the same room
          would shatter if poison or a cursed potion was poured into it.
        o He learned that one of the two potions in metal cages taken
          from the hall of mirrors was a Healing Potion.
        o He failed his final roll on the other potion from that hall.

    Darius cast identify (actually 5th but functionally 6th level)
    with the following results:
        o He missed his roll for the second caged potion.
        o He missed his roll for the potion from the metal web.
        o He missed his first roll for the ring from the metal web,
          yelled in frustration and cast Alternate Reality so he could
          reroll. He then learned that the ring would call forth subject
          creatures to serve the wearer from an extradimensional
          "resting area".
        o He learned that each such creature could be called but once
          per day.  Also that those so called would heal slowly on days
          that they were not called.
        o He also learned a third name - "Frutz".  Based on the names,
          the party surmised that this was a Ring of Kobold Summoning,
          and decided to call it that.

    Cassie cast identify (5th level) with the following results:
        o She learned that the potion from the metal web was a Rainbow
          Hues Potion.
        o She failed her roll for the Ring of Kobold Summoning
        o She learned that the third potion from the drow wizards lab
          was a Sweet Water Potion.
        o She failed her roll for the crystal disc.
        o She learned that the brass ring taken from the animated armor
          could be used to repel gargoyles at will as the 6th level
          wizard spell Repulsion, but with no save allowed.

    It was decided that the Heroism Potion that Henkles was carrying
    for the party should instead be carried by Misery Jones.  Steve
    was assigned the task of carrying the Ring of Gargoyle Repelling
    and Darius was given the task of carrying the Ring of Kobold
    Summoning for the party.
