Mirtul 9

Mirtul 9, 1370:

    The boring barnacles spend a 6th day undetected on the hull of the
    Star Chaser.

    Dexter, Denyae, Steve, and the Bo'sun arrange to interview
    potential new crewmwmbers:

    Yandrin is looking for an officer position and leaves.  Rarireth
    steps in, sees who is interviewing and takes off running with
    Denyae chasing him.  He runs down and around the row of warehouses
    the interviews were happening in and then runs up a fire escape on
    the back of the last warehouse, pulling the bottom section of
    stairway up after him before Denyae and Gomer can get there.
    Denyae uses her boots to get to the fire escape, then resumes the
    chase.  Rarireth runs across the roof to the next warehouse, but
    is slowed down by the 8' height difference, allowing Denyae to be
    there when he finishes climbing up.  She points a sword at him and
    he decides to run for it again by jumping back down to the first
    warehouse.  This doesn't work so well, since he has a DEX of 8.
    Denyae's DEX is more than twice that, so she has a sword pointing
    at him again before he manages to stand up.  After that he gives
    in (with much grousing about the smell on the Star Chaser) and
    Denyae marches him back down the fire escape.  Gomer is waiting
    there (piling up boxes to climb up) and together they bring
    Rarireth back to Dexter and Steve and from there to the brig on
    the Star Chaser.

    Steve explains the oddities of the Star Chaser to Orlirider, Enga
    and Arliald and brings them to the ship.  Aliald says "no thanks"
    before they board the ship.  Enga agrees to take the job and after
    that Orlirider does as well.

    Discussions are held about replacing the sails and a proposed
    sigil to put on the new sails.  As an experiment Darius spent the
    afternoon buying up all the yellow cotton he could find and had
    the zombies sew the proposed sigil onto one of the larger spare
    sails.
