Nightal 16

Nightal 16, 1369:
    High = 18, Low = 10
    Moderate precipitation (up to 3/4" rain or 2" snow) starting @ 6:30am
    Wind gusting to 50 mph from the north.
    Partly cloudy most of the day.

    Narthan dispelled Staros's charms on Steve and Moogh.  Cassie then
    dispelled all of her charms.

    Denyae, Stalker, Darius, Dexter, Narthan, Cassie, Henkles, Steve,
    Jan, Mrap-M'rap headed into Undermountain to collect Dedre's
    scroll from where the Blue Shield Band (Denyae's former party)
    left it.  (9gp from party treasure.)

    While travelling to the room where the scroll was hidden, the
    party spotted a deadfall that 5 ogres where waiting around the
    corner to spring on the party.  Some party members charged around
    the corner and suffered from the deadfall anyway, but the ogres,
    who had a fondness for called shots to the face, were defeated
    anyway.  Collected from the bodies were 7cp, 28sp, 8ep, 11gp, 2
    toals, and an anealed iron octagonal rod, 16" long, with a round
    pommel on one end and a man-sized fist on the other.  Narthan &
    Henkles each had 8 goodberries.
        1750xp to Cassie, Darius, Dexter, Denyae, Henkles, Jan,
            Narthan, Stalker, and Steve for ambushing ogres

    The party collected the scroll without further incident:
        2) Create Water
        2) Insatiable Thirst
        3) Steam Blast
        5) Conjure Water Elemental
        5) Water Bomb
    Darius was given the scroll to carry.  The party then departed
    Undermountain without further incident.  (9gp from party
    treasure.)

            Dexter, Denyae, Henkles, Jan, Narthan, Stalker, and Steve

    Cassie cast Identify (at 6th level) with the following
    results:
      o Learned that the rod taken from the ogres had the command
        word "pugilate"
      o Learned that the rod functions as a +1 footman's mace
      o Learned that the rod would cast the third level (HackMaster)
        wizard's spell Bash Face (21' range) when the command word
        was spoken
      o Failed a roll for the Rod of Face Bashing
      o Learned gargoyles summoned with the Gargoyle Ring will
        appear as if coming from another dimension, arriving within
        20' to 40' from the ring-wearer.
