Next morning the party gets an overview of the surrounding
territory, actually through the mechanism of the GM handing them
a map, but we will assume it was
from Mrap-M'rap describing the arial view. They decided to
backtrack 1 mile to a trail that headed in what they believed was
the direction of Westendt.
After travelling for about a mile down the trail, the party was
frightened by the sudden appearence of a dragon flying through the
low clouds about 200' overhead, but it seemed to ignore them. The
clouds were too thick to get a good look at the dragon during the
second or so that the party could see it at all.
The party saw orc tracks crossing or briefly using the trail once
or twice, but were unmolested until three miles further down from
where they saw the dragon. There the party encountered a band of
26 orcs coming out of a nearby canyon. Oguch attempted to cow
them with his preaching as he had outside of Silverymoon, but this
band included a priest of Ilneval (orc god of warfare), who
ordered the orcs to attack the band of infidel Bahgtru worshippers.
Ag killed the leader with magic missiles just before Tristan
levelled the entire group with a fireball. The party was able to
recover 122ep and a silver belt buckle of Netherese design from
the bodies.
