Eleasias 13

Eleasias 13, 1369:

    The party woke up fully healed and surrounded by a lot of very
    tired Moon Knights.

    They headed back to the Manor and found the entrance sealed with a
    sticky silk net.  Using a dose of the anti-web oild they were
    given by Igor Peterson in a combination of coating the connection
    points and cutting with a coated short sword, they were able to
    slowly clear the entrance.  Mrap-Merap did some arial observation
    of the grounds and saw no spinners, but noticed that the gargoyles
    on the tower had apparently been rearranged.  Darius suggested
    that the manor defenses might have animated the gargoyles to
    defend the toewer from spinners.

    The party checked the servants quarters and the manor house again.
    They were empty.  They checked the door to Igor's study, where
    they believed the master control for the ward was kept, and found
    it locked.  They did not have a key and decided not to try forcing
    their way in.

    AFAL continued on to the chicken coop, where they found evidence
    of feeding, but no spinners.  Close inspection showed that no more
    than half of the eggs/chicks from a nest had been attacked.  They
    discussed sealing the chicken coop to cut off a food source, but
    had no easy way to do so without stealing boards from elsewhere to
    board up the entrance, so the plan was deferred.

    The party then entered the stable to check on the horses and were
    set upon by 3 blacks, 2 or 3 greys and a handful of trannies.
    They managed to defeat them without anyone hitting 0 hit points,
    although Mrap-Merap had to be healed during combat to avoid it.

    After the fight in the stables, the party decided to take the
    horses back to town.  As they were leaving, they were aproached by
    a black under a silk flag of truce.  In the limitted conversation
    that followed, the party learned that the spinners were interested
    in negotiating a silk for land deal to keep the manor for
    themselves.  The party said that they couldn't negotiate such a
    deal and would return tomorrow after discussing it with the owner
    of the manor.

    The party returned to the village and discussed the offer with
    Igor, who was adamantly opposed to negotiating with the monsters
    that killed his father.  They also tried some rough communication
    with one of the trapped greys to determine if the spinners were a
    hive mind and if the outside spinners were in contact with the
    queen.  The hive mind nswers were inconclusive, but there was some
    indication that the grey might be in contact with the queen.
    Questions about where the grey though "home" was showed that the
    grey thought of the manor as home and that it believed it was the
    only home for its species.  Darius announced that he would
    memorize 2 ESP spells for the next day.
