Eleasias 14
Eleasias 14, 1369: (half moon, waning)
The party talked with one of of the grays that they had previously
captured. First they tired to determine if the gray was capable
of negotation. The answers were confusing. It was asked if it
spoke for the spinners, the answer was yes, if it spoke for the
queen, the answer was it could.
The party asked how long it could think, based off of the
confusing answers, the answer was the it 'became' the day that
they took over the manor. After much discussing, the party
decided to leave and continue the mission.
400xp to Maanamere (400) for being a consistant pain in the
ass during the negotiations. (Well played Good Ranger)
The party spent the remaining time until dusk healing and drawing
cards from the Deck of Wondrous Transformations.
Stewart drew The Knight of Pentacles, which caused him to adopt a
code of chivalry and allowed him to specialize in thrown rocks and
also gain throwing nonweapon proficiency.
Steve drew The 5 of Swords, which cost him his half-elven sleep
resistance and talent for spotting secret doors, but gave him a +1
save vs. cold and the ability to function normally on 4 hours
sleep (making the GM and probably most of the players jealous, if
not his companions).
Dexter drew Judgement, which made him an alcoholic, gave him a phobia
of undead, requred hime to have his Moon's Hand Mace to spellcast
and denied him the ability to use rods, staves, or wands, but gave
him the ability to know alignment and detect undead. It also
granted him immunity to charm by undead forces starting at 6th
level.
At dusk, the party returned to the mansion. When they returned,
the gate was blocked again. They opened the gate and were beset by
the spinners (queen included) Tiny bonus to everyone because the GM
screwed up the count (50 each). The black went beserk and mostly
died as they all made saving throws, and some interesting uses
of the antidotes. All antiodotes (the 3 plus one more bought in the
village) and 2 of the oils were consumed in this battle. The Queen
did not last long. And everyone pulled out all the stops. Combat,
healing, spells going off everywhere, and eventually the tide turned
against the spinners. The party triumped. This was a very
entertaining battle, so it is unfortunate that the GM can only
poorly remember it.
200xp ea. to Henkles and Maanamere for acting as targets.
The party returned to the village, Igor Peterson said that he
would keep the spinner nest smaller and not continue expanding.
The villagers as promised offered each party member fine clothing
made to order. It will be ready in a 10 day and it is about 400
man hours worth of work each.
