Kythorn 8

Kythorn 7, 1369 Year of the Gauntlet Kythorn 9, 1369

Kythorn 8, 1369: (full moon)
    High = 60, Low = 40
Trace precipitation (up to 1/8" rain or 1/2" snow) starting @ 3:50pm
    Calm. Cloudy.

The next morning some of the party goes hunting for beef down slope.
Bambi, Moogh, Elizabeth Rose, Stewart, Henkles, Darius and Falco go
down in one hunting party, Dexter and his bear go down separately
with the plan of getting there after the shooting is over, so as not
to disturb the cows. When the hunting party arrives near the
cattle, Moogh gets excited and charges. Darius manages to trip
Moogh and at Elizabeth's suggestion, Bambi manages to "keep him
occupied" while the archers (& slinger) take down 4 cattle before a
stampede takes them out of the area.

8:02 - On his way down to meet the hunters, Dexter encounters 13
Kobolds. Dexter yells "Kobolds!" to attract the party. Hearing the
cry in the distance, Elizabeth Rose immediately yells "Frik!
    Frak! !". The hunters
come running to help, but are to far away to arrive in time.

The Kobolds proceed to attack with range weapons in the classic
style of spaghetti western banditos attacking Clint Eastwood - which
is to say, they cover the ground around Dexter with javelins, darts,
clubs and hand axes. Dexter responds in the same idiom and kills 3
of them before they flee out of range, completely ignoring the
javelin and hand axe which did hit (1 HP each - he never even
bothered getting them healed). Dexter earns 21 XP and contributes
their pocket change (43cp, 46sp) to the party treasury.

The party hauls the cattle back to the camp and buries them in
snow. When the bear and Dexter get back, the bear tries to maul
Frak, which causes Dexter and Elizabeth to go off and "have a
little talk" but everything seems to be settled amiably.

25XP ea. (roleplay & story) to Dexter, Steve & Elizabeth for Frik
    & Frak issues.
