Tarsakh 18

Tarsakh 18, 1370 (nearly new moon):
    High = 60, Low = 40
    No precipitation
    Calm.
    Overcast.

    Silirial comes back, she's nervous but still interested in a
    position as Ship's Navigator after seeing the ship (mostly because
    high pay was promised and Maanamere is really cute).  She says
    that the maps on board are adequate but that some could be updated
    and getting more detailed charts for the area around The Ice Peak
    would be a good idea.

    The party realizes that Arcturagana is going to keep charming
    people until she knows that they have hired a mate and a
    navigator.  They decide to have Maanamere try to use the Captain's
    bed on the Star Chaser to contact Arcturagana and explain things
    to her. Dec '12 game ended here.

    The party rows out to the Star Chaser while Henkles and others
    attempt to convince Maanamere that he should climb into the bed
    and attempt to contact Arcturagana.  As soon as they are on deck,
    Maanamere orders his crew to grap Henkles and throw him onto the
    bed.  Some bouncing and dodging occurs, but eventually Henkles is
    thrown into the bed and starts hearing an indignant Arcturagana
    insist that he leave and get Maanamere.  Henkles tries to deliver
    the message, but she doesn't seem to be listening.  Darius goes
    and gets Maanamere.

    Henkles gets out of the bed for Maanamere to get in, but he grabs
    Henkles and pulls him in as well.  Henkles in turn grabs Tristan,
    so all three of them end up in the bed, which Arcturagana finds
    surprising, but she seems to enjoy all of their warmth somehow
    (the men feel a chill as if she was beside each of them).
    Maanamere manages to explain that they have hired a 2nd Mate and
    Navigator to Arcturagana.  Henkles manages to annoy Arcturagana
    some more.

    Dexter goes berry buying he is able to acquire a cup of "fresh"
    brries, of which at least 8 are fresh enough.  He creates 5
    enchanted berries with Goodberry, Later, he talks to staff
    about a greenhouse for growing fruit.

    Augury is cast on the question of Henkles reading the
    Shameful Tome, the result is simply "Woe".

    Henkles takes Tristan to look at the sword he saw the day before.
    No magical properties.

    Brogan casts Remove Curse twice on the Curst ashes Tristan
    casts it once.  No apparent effect.

    Maanamere rents a warehouse for his officers to conduct interviews
    in and buys some oil of clove (510gp, rented through Kythorn
    15th).  He also buys a hammock (5sp).

    Party goes to the Street of Maps to inquire about updates to charts:
        Update existing set of Sword Coast charts: 50gp, 10 days
        New set of general Sword Coast charts: 250gp
        Detailed charts for Ice Peak region: 150gp

    Maanamere elects to have the existing charts updated and buys
    detailed charts of the Ice Peaks (200gp).  He has the Star
    Chaser's charts sent over that afternoon.

    Darius casts Dispel Magic (8th level) on the charmed
    candidates and succeeds with both.  All five candidates were sent
    away.
