The party appeared on the Nesme bridge as expected and immediately
realized that they had made a serious mistake. The temperature on
the bridge was subzero and dropping and some of them didn't even
have cloaks on. Hastilly choosing between the warded fortress on
one end of the bridge and the barred gates of the city on the
other, the party hurried over to the gate and managed to get the
attention of a guard behind a small door set in the gate. In a
remarkable burst of wisdom, they let Cassie do the talking.
Cassie managed to convince the guard that the party had been
teleported out of some nameless dungeon against their will and
they didn't now what caused it. The lack of warm clothing helped.
The party headed for the crash space in the former temple of
Waukeen and bedded everyone down, paying the 25gp out of party
    treasure.

First thing the next morning, the whole party went out and
purchased very cold weather clothing from party treasure (150gp
total), Darius spent an additional 45gp on clothing for the three
rescued women and 2gp on breakfast for them and the Silent
Travellers. After that the Silent Travellers happily took their
    leave of the party.

After that, some of the party, including Henkles, Stewart, Narthan
and Maanamere went to Rhaunric Starbrand's magic weapon shop. He
welcomed those who were returning back and greeted Narthan as a
fellow Battleforger. He had his usual +1 arrows and sling stones
and some +2 arrows as well. He had sold Crushmighty the hammer
but still had Balthazar, Hellspawn of Terror. He also had a
rather plain +1 horseman's mace and a magic light crossbow called
    Piercer (+1, +2 v. serpents & arachnids, Hackmaster piercing
damage). However nothing of interest to the party was within
their price range. They continued on and bought a conventional
    sword for Maanamere elsewhere.

The party then began the mundane task of turning their swag into
cash. They started with some cash and gems which they got
    appraised:
        1188sp
        192gp
        17ep
        12 toals (worthless in Nesme)
        7 tiny 200gp emeralds
        4 100gp citrines
They sold the following items for 953gp, 7sp and 3cp:
        2 oversized claymores
        7 normal ones
        3 full wineskins
5 Short Swords, one with a spiked pommel
        1 Longsword
A Halberd, decorated with multicolored ribbons woven about the
shaft, maypole style, Narthan suspects it has never seen
            combat
        6 Daggers

A bag holding 33 normal sling bullets
A medium shield covered with what appears to be Green Dragon hide
A sack containing a small shovel and a bundle of candles
        3 wool blankets
        2 bucklers
        2 short bows, 1 for STR 18/03
        19 heavy crossbows
        41 heavy crossbow bolts
        4 yards of linen
They threw away an old sock.

They sold the scroll of 1 9th level wizard spell (from Myth
Drannor) for 2700gp and 2 clerical scrolls (from the minotaur
    slavemaster) for 3300gp.

At this point, the Shining Sons caught up with them. Some of them
were interested in discussing their share of the treasure, but that
had to be put aside because Dagar was alternating between furious
and frantic. Apparently the The Reverential Coronet of
Extroversion had dissapeared from his backpack during the night!

Much arguing and recrimination followed, but they decided to start
by trying Locate Object near the temple of Waukeen where they had
spent the night. Narthan cast it and detected it up on the roof
of the temple. With Steve's help, he climbed up on the roof and
they found the coronet hanging on a nail under an eave. Narthan
thought about trying it on, but didn't. This was just as well
because Yanrivar appeared over the edge of the roof about then to
see what they were up to. Everyone headed back down and the
Reverential Coronet was (grudgingly) returned to Dagar, with
admonishments to be more careful and warnings that he was on his
own next time. Dagar secured it carefully in the bottom of his
    backpack.

Steve did some research around town and learned what a Scroll of
    Materialize Mystic Moose was.

Shopping continued with Narthan ordering a nice rope kit from
Aurora's to be delivered in Waterdeep. Henkles got Ursula to go
and buy Balthazar, Hellspawn of Terror (rumbleBOOMrumble) for him
for 4000gp (which Henkles borrowed from the party treasury).
Dexter also stopped in on Rhaunric Starbrand and bought some of
his magic arrows. Meanwhile, a room was rented for Steve in the
Restless Knight so that he coould cast Identify. Maanamere was
posted at the door to guard him.

Steve (6) then cast identify with the following results:
o The oak staff doesn't have many charges left and the command
word is "Agni" (actually he found that carved in the base)
o Bottle of greyish liquid - failed
o Unidentified Magic Ring from Mth Drannor - failed
o Staff (which is useable by anyone) casts illusionary
fireballs of fantastic power (dubbed the Staff of Phantasmal
          Fireballs)
o Once activated, you can step off the throw rug briefly
          without deactivating it
o Fanny Pack is an item of holding as expected, has a weight
          limit of 300lbs & 16 cu. ft.

Some members of the party went back to the temple to talk with
the three women they had rescued and pretty much left in their
beds that morning. The woman who had been nonresponsive the day
before was still in shock (and still pregnant), but the woman who
had been badly beaten said that they had managed to get a name
(Eyae Reldescap) and an address (corner of Tornsar Alley & Buckle
St.) out of her, plus some indication that she wanted to go home.
The other pregnant woman identified herself as Tamna Rhaundurask
a tavern worker from Dock Ward in Waterdeep who had been
kidnapped on her way home one night. The third woman - the badly
wounded one - identified herself as Denyae Stavefall. Nobody got
around to asking where she was from or how she was captured.

Tamna decided that she had no ties to Waterdeep and just wanted to
be somewhere that she could get some help with her "little
problem". Cassie took her to the local temple of Chauntea,
where she negotiated a donation of 200gp from party treasure to
get them to take her in indefinitely.

When asked where she wanted to be brought to (a temple in Nesme or
someplace in Waterdeep), Denyae surprised the party by asking if
they could use a henchman. She offered to work for a ¼
share of treasure for a while as a way of thanking the party for
rescuing her. Henkles took Denyae outside for some sparring to
test her abilities. He learned that she was quick (by Henkles
standards!) but not quite as skilled as him. She also explained
that she was a longbow specialist, which the party saw as a Good
Thing. Her alignment was sureptitiosly checked while they were
sparring. The party agreed to take her on for now and purchased a
bow for her and refilled arrows all around from party loot.

They also distributed some loot to her and others. She was given
the bag of caltrops they had found and given the +2 leather armor
and medium shield engraved as a Scroll of Summon Mystic Moose to
carry as party items. Narthan was given the minotaur shaman's
horns, the walking stick and the hollow dagger. Stewart kept the
crossbow bolt that appears to turn into a grappling hook after
firing and 75' of very high quality silk line. Dexter was given
the two surgical needles and thread and the jar containing what he
had identified as an herbal salve for treating frost damage (+1hp
    to bandaging, 10 doses).

They also came to an agreement about the loot with the Shining
Sons. Yanrask, Yanrivar, and Staric got 254gp each and Dagar got
to keep the +1 Medium Shield.

Darius spent the evening at the Nesme Society of Wizards, copying
    the spells Hurl Rock and
    Rockburst. He returned
in a hurry around 11 and announced that there was someone at the
NSoW selling a few small (low level spells only) chardalyn for
100gp ea. The party bought the three that hadn't sold yet.

After that, everyone bundled up and headed for the bridge. Cassie
tried to talk everyone through the City Gate by telling the guard
a story about the fighters making a bet about spending the night
on the bridge. The party was quite surprised when the guard
responded that the guys they made the bet with were already there
and told them to go ahead. When they arrived on the bridge, they
found the (surviving) Silent Travellers relaxing on the bridge and
smirking at them. They were clearly still low on funds, as they
were mostly wearing rags and had no visible weapons, but they
seemed quite pleased with themselves for guessing the party would
return to the bridge to gate themselves back to Waterdeep. Cassie
and Ursula began to try spells on them, but Mirima Thadodarin
immediately said "Start casting and we yell for the guards." This
stopped everyone but Stewart who stormed off to the far side of
the bridge in an apparent huff. He returned in a moment and
walked up to the Silent Travellers, who were suddenly engulfed in
his Silence spell. Before they could react, Ursula and
Cassie incapacitated them with Jealosy and Scare
    charms.

They covered the non AFAL members eyes with cloaks and cast
Faerie Fire to activate the gate. Having done so, they
    stepped into Undermountain at midnight.
