AlphaGene has
manufactured microarrays for PerkinElmer, previously NEN Life Sciences, under the MICROMAXTM product line. Using this proven
technology, AlphaGene offers its clients a microarray spotting service as well
as gene expression hybridization studies and analysis.
Microarrays can be manufactured by
either using clones provided by the client or isolated from FLEX libraries
constructed by AlphaGene. Since each array and hybridization program varies
significantly, specifications are developed to meet the needs of the clients
research programs. |

AlphaGene is presently supplying NEN Life Sciences with technology and genes
for the spotting of microarrays.
The first product NEN
marketed is the
MICROMAX™
Human cDNA Microarray System I.
This system contains
two, 1" x 3" microarray slides, each pre-spotted with 2,400 known
genes. Except for a small number of plant control genes, all genes are from 50+
human cDNA libraries created by AlphaGene. In this first microarray, 10+ tissue
sources are represented and over 40% are full-length genes.
AlphaGene is marketing or developing the following custom arrays or biochips.
