Tarsakh 10, 1370:
    High = 35, Low = 15
    Heavy precipitation (4" snow) starting @ 11:40pm
Wind gusting to 25 mph from the north.
Partly cloudy most of the day.

"Gomer" Ormarask and "Doc" Valdon show up for tour of the Star
Chaser. Taxae is a no-show. They are taken out to the ship and
have a chance to chat with the Mate and Gunner. After leaving the
ship, Doc declines the Captain's offer of employment (it might be
the smell, guys), but Gomer accepted a position of Boatswain for a
    high rate of pay (TBD).

Whacking of Henkles is concluded in the afternoon with the
    following results:

    Two candidates are interviewed:
Valvermon Goldenfinder (LE, 2 years as 2nd mate) - left quickly
Valmarra Edesdoderdrin (N, 3 years as Boatswain)
Valmarra was invited to come to the dock the next morning to tour
the Star Chaser and meet the officers and crew.

A messenger from Ekaphokis Stormsong comes by to make arrangements
for the party to bring all items to be included in the aucton to
the warehouse on the 16th and again on the 17th for
    Identification.

Ag is feeling better by the afternoon.

That night there is a snowstorm. In the midst of it, Arcturagana
comes tapping on Maanamere's window to ask about the crew he's
hiring for the Star Chaser. Maanamere calls for help, but the
rest of the party's attention is drawn to the vampire battle on
the other side of the house. Staric goes to keep Maanamere
company while Henkles borrows the Scarf of Warmth and the Gargoyle
Ring and sends a gargoyle to investigate and the rest of the party
heads for the kitchen doorway. From there they can see their
usual vampire guard battling three vampire children (formerly 3-8
    yrs old).

Dexter casts Prayer from the kitchen, which is close enough to the
battle to affect the vampires. Many people cast Magic
Missile. Henkles rushes out to engage from close range, but
the guard and long distance attacks have turned the children to
gas before he gets there. He tries to send gargoyles after the
gaseous vampires but the gargoyles lose them in the storm.

The vampire guard asks for healing and confirmation that "She's at
the window again, isn't she?" and receives both from the party.
Then The guard, Henkles, Steve (and others?) headed around the
house while everyone else headed through the house to Maanamere's
    room.

In the mean time, Arcturagana had been chatting with Maanamere and
offered to send him people for the ship. She originally offered
people who could only work night shift, but Maanamere managed to
talk her out of that, but she said she would find him some people
anyway. Maanamere tried to decline but she ignored him. She also
offered her own services as a cook, but Maanamere didn't accept.
After that she started telling him stories of her experiences at
sea, which got his interest better than any charm.

When the folks outside got around the house, Steve was happy to
see that he had a clear shot, so he hit Arcturagana with a
Lightning Bolt while the vampire guard hit her with a
crossbow bolt. Arcturagana said a hasty "Oops, gotta go!" to
Maanamere (who was distressed that he didn't get to hear the rest
of the story) and then turned into a swan (in view of the party
    this time) and flew off.

Henkles sent a gargoyle after the swan, but just as the gargoyle
was catching up to it, the swan turned back into Arcturagana.
Standing in midair as if it was solid ground, she spun around and
engaged the gargoyle with longsword and dagger, almost killing it
in a single round. Henkles hastily dismissed it.

The guard returned to his post and the rest of the night passed
    quietly.
